Esmée Mulder is a graduate research assistant at Earth Lab. She is working with the North Central Regional Invasive Species and Climate Change team (NC RISCC) on assessing changes in rangeland biomass using remotely sensed observations and in situ data.

Esmée has a multi-disciplinary background in geospatial data analysis, environmental sciences, and critical international development studies. She is conducting her PhD research on strengthening rangeland health assessments and equitable decision-making through geospatial sciences and indigenous knowledge in East Africa. Additionally, Esmée works as a practitioner in East Africa on projects related to land and water management, including rangeland restoration, geospatial agricultural land and water assessment tools, and co-designing programs with a diverse range of stakeholders.
